Planning Commissioner Vacancy
If you have been wanting to become more involved in the land use and planning decisions for Fruitland Township, there is an opportunity awaiting you.
The Fruitland Township Planning Commission is seeking interested persons to fill one position that will expire March 31, 2008. You must be a resident of the Township to serve on the planning commission, which meets on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The term of this position runs until March 31, 2011.
The Planning Commission makes recommendations related to the adoption or amendments to the zoning ordinance, conducts public hearings on various types of development proposals and advises the Township Board on land use planning policy through the master plan. Members of the Planning Commission receive $35 per meeting in compensation and attend an average of one evening meeting per month. The township also provides funding for educational seminars, support materials and other educational opportunities to help commissioners perform their duties.
